Her father worked as an engineer in Bihar’s rural works department, while her mother was a school principal. 📚 After excelling academically, she earned a Computer Science & Engineering degree from IIT Guwahati in 2016 and joined PayPal as a senior software engineer. Yet, the dream of civil services remained alive. She balanced UPSC preparation with the Bihar Public Service Commission exam, earning a position as Assistant Commissioner of State Taxes in 2022. After a year’s focused preparation, she cleared UPSC with remarkable success. 💬 “When I saw my name on the very first page, I couldn’t believe it,” Monika recalls. Her interview tested her knowledge on economy, railways, defence manufacturing, POSH implementation, and reservation debates - requiring sharp conceptual clarity and balanced thinking.
