#XiJinping called for efforts to build a strong and modern #information #supportforce and for the rapid development of the #Chinese #military's networked information system. Xi made the appeal Wednesday during an inspection of the People's Liberation Army's (#PLA) information 's information support troops are a strategic branch of the army created in the process of adjusting and reforming the structure of China's armed forces branches. During the ceremonial meeting on the occasion of the founding of this branch of the army in April this year, Xi Jinping personally presented it with a military banner and delivered a speech. As he pointed out on Wednesday during an inspection, the networked information system has begun to play an unprecedented leading role in modern warfare, and it is necessary to fully understand the extreme importance of the formation of this system. The Chinese leader called on information support troops to accelerate work on building a network information system and increase its ability to maintain and sustain the army's readiness and combat capability. Stressing the need for extensive work to build a network information system, Xi Jinping said it is necessary to improve the way of providing information services and pay close attention to protecting the security of network information. The #PRC President also called for upgrading command methods and transforming the methods of conducting combat operations. Xi called for information support troops to adhere to the fundamental principle of absolute leadership of the armed forces by the Party, strictly adhere to the Party's style and discipline, and fight corruption, stressing that these troops must be absolutely loyal, pure and reliable. The Chinese leader called for the first convocation of the Party Committee for Information Support Troops to take responsibility for the development of these troops and create a team of highly qualified professionals in the field of networked information. The Central Military Commission and other relevant departments should make coordinated efforts to develop information support troops, Xi Jinping added.
