Israeli company Ratio Energies announced today that the Italian oil giant Eni has withdrawn from a consortium with the Israeli firm and the UK-based Dana Petroleum, which was set to explore natural gas in the offshore area known as Block “G” off Israel’s coast.
The Boycott, s (BDS) movement welcomed Eni’s withdrawal, describing it as a “major victory for the movement.” In a post on its account on X, the movement said that “Eni’s withdrawal from Israel’s illegal operations offshore in occupied Palestinian waters is a significant vote of no confidence in the Israeli economy.”
