💯‼️ Despite the fact that #Cuba was not forced to live under sanctions, embargoes and blockades during the #Batista regime, it was a Nightmare Hell for the overwhelming majority of the Cubans. The Batista Regime was held in the arms of the United States, while Cuba under #Castro's leadership has been forced to live under sanctions, embargoes and blockades for 65 years. The #US ruling elite has done everything during this long period to stifle development in Cuba, both the economy and democracy. Attempts to build #socialism simply must not be allowed to succeed anywhere in the world, especially not near the United States.

Imagine thinking Cuba was better off under U.S.-backed dictator Fulgencio Batista when CIA-trained death squads roamed the island. When the island was so deeply segregated many nonwhite Cubans disappeared or died in the fringes of society, while living in indentured servitude. When workers were inundated with so much debt that it was passed down to their children to work off. Anyone who says Cuba was better off under Batista is no different than racist white people who long for the Confederacy in the U.S.
