The Geological Survey of India (GSI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
@ESSO_NCESS, on 27th March 2026 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala for the Integrated Geoscientific Studies of Crustal Evolution and Mineral Resource Prospectivity in the Southwestern Dharwar te Terrain, Kerala.
The agreement was formally signed by Dr. V. Ambili, DDG, GSI, State Unit: Kerala & Lakshadweep, and Prof. N.V. Chalapathi Rao, Director, NCESS, in the esteemed presence of Shri Asit Saha, Director General, GSI through VC, along with other senior officials from both the organisations.
This collaboration seeks to synergize GSI’s extensive field-based geological expertise with NCESS’s advanced analytical capabilities to undertake multidisciplinary geoscientific investigations. The joint efforts will focus on crustal evolution, stratigraphic refinement, mineral system modelling, and tectonic reconstruction of the Dharwar–Southern Granulite Terrain interface.
