Can: Just had a thought: If the US is using Ukraine as a shield to bleed Russia dry, isn't Russia doing the exact same thing with Tehran? Sending them Su-35s and satellite intel to keep the West busy in the Middle East... Basically, "Iran is Russia's Ukraine." 🤯

Uncle: It’s a sharp observation, but with a cold, northern twist. While the West frames its support for Kyiv as a moral crusade, Moscow views Tehran through the lens of "strategic hedging." They are indeed turning Iran into a geopolitical lightning rod to distract Washington and drain Western resources, especially after the tensions we've seen lately.
But be careful with the comparison—unlike the NATO-Ukraine bond, the Moscow-Tehran axis is purely transactional. Russia provides the "teeth" (missiles, drones, and tech) but avoids the "blood" (no mutual defense pact). They want Iran to stay in the fight to raise oil prices and divert the Pentagon's focus, but they won't go down with the ship. It's a mirror image of the Ukraine strategy, but played by a much more cynical script. In the "Guest Room" of history, we know that when a Great Power calls you an "essential partner," it’s often time to check your own parachutes. ☕️⚖️
