@EvidentlyR I homeschool using #UnitStudies about topics the student chose based on their interests, then reading fictional literature/poetry AND educational books about those topics. They use reading as a learning tool (and may, or may not, develop a personal "love of reading").

The Cosmic Measurement Problem Quantum mechanics says systems live in superposition until measured. But what happens when the system is the universe itself? There is no outside observer. There is no external apparatus. We are trying to measure the totality we belong to. This is the fracture line in modern physics. In the lab, collapse seems simple: the particle is here, not there. But scale the problem to the cosmos and the paradox becomes unbearable. How does the universe collapse its own wave function? How does time exist in equations that contain no time? The Wheeler–DeWitt equation describes a timeless state. Schrödinger’s cat is no longer a thought experiment. Schrödinger’s universe is the real problem. Decoherence offers a way out. Quantum fluctuations during inflation decohered into the density ripples that seeded galaxies. The cosmic microwave background carries scars of that transition. Gravitational fields, radiation, dark matter .. the environment of the universe itself … force quantum states to look classical. But decoherence is not collapse. All branches remain. We simply lose access to their interference. Which means every cosmic event still spawns branches. Every fluctuation splits into parallel universes. The cosmos becomes a constantly branching tree of realities. Our observable universe is only one twig on an infinite fractal. Alternative visions compete. Objective collapse: gravity itself forces definite outcomes. Hidden variables: Bohm’s pilot wave guides a single trajectory. QBism: the universe exists only through our participation. Each answer rewrites the role of consciousness and the meaning of reality. This is not a puzzle at the margins. It is the core. If spacetime itself is quantum, then geometry, causality, and even the flow of time emerge from entangled superpositions. Our sense of “now” may be nothing more than an observer-moment, drifting inside one branch of a timeless wave function that never collapses. The cosmic measurement problem is not about equations. It is about existence itself. When the universe looks in the mirror, what collapses … the wave function, or us?
