गाजियाबाद के जीटी रोड स्थित ओपुलेंट मॉल में पहनावे के आधार पर भेदभाव का शर्मनाक मामला सामने आया है। यहां एक मुस्लिम शख्स मोहम्मद सैफुल्ला को सिर्फ कुर्ता-पायजामा पहनने की वजह से दुकान नहीं चलाने दी गई। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार मॉल प्रबंधन का कहना है कि वे कुर्ता-पायजामा पहनकर कारोबार सकते। सैफुल्ला के मुताबिक, 29 अक्तूबर को उन्होंने दुकान का उद्घाटन करते हुए अपना व्यापार शुरू किया था। अगले ही दिन मॉल के मैनेजमेंट (विजय कुमार वर्मा उर्फ कर्नल साहब, सचिन, मुक्तेश्वर और अन्य 10-15 लोग) ने उनके भाई का विरोध किया, जिन्होंने कुर्ता, पायजामा, सिर पर टोपी और दाढ़ी रखी हुई थी। कहा गया कि मालिकों ने दाढ़ी और कुर्ता-पायजामा पहनकर कारोबार करने वाले सभी लोगों का प्रवेश निषेध किया हुआ है। इसके बाद उनकी दुकान कई दिन तक बंद रही। पीड़ित शख्स ने मामले में पुलिस से भी गुहार लगाई, लेकिन अभी तक पुलिस की ओर से किसी कार्रवाई के संकेत नहीं मिले हैं।
