Day 2 of the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Business Advocacy, Leadership, and Interpersonal skills at YMCA Central is pushing our #SheriaYaVijana TOTs beyond theory into real, lived practice. The session kicked off with a powerful, interactive simulation led by policy development strategist Ger F Odok, guiding participants to unpack how communities think, respond, and engage. Through role play, TOTs stepped into two worlds, community members and facilitators, experiencing firsthand how conversations unfold, where they succeed, and where they fall apart. Every moment became a learning opportunity, refining their approach for clearer, more effective communication. Key takeaways? A strong facilitator must: ☑️Build genuine rapport before starting the conversation ☑️Own and guide the discussion with confidence ☑️Understand community perceptions on governance and political narratives ☑️Speak the language of the people, literally and contextually ☑️Stay prepared, adaptable, and ready to steer conversations meaningfully This is what makes the training real, practical, immersive, and rooted in real-life scenarios.
