Prado, Havana, 2016.
In the middle of the afternoon, Castro police violently arrested a blind street vendor and his assistant, also blind, who were selling sunglasses near Industria and Neptuno in Centro Habana. When the State Security and police movg to each other, holding on tight, trying not to be taken. The scene continued along Prado, right in front of the Hotel Inglaterra at Parque Central, with tourists and locals witnessing how two unarmed, disabled men were humiliated in public by Castro police This happened during the final stretch of the so called normalization with the Communist tyranny, the same system that presents itself to the world as legitimate while crushing the most vulnerable in broad daylight. There has been no accountability for what was done to these men, no consequences, nothing, just another example of how communism operates in Cuba, where even blindness does not protect you from state violence.
