#AI #computer #problems #intelligence #robot The definition of AI (artificial intelligence) is actually multilevel. First let’s talk about natural intelligence. We are discussing how humans perceive both types of intelligence. #Natural intelligence is intelligence that comes from the human brain. Therefore, #artificial intelligence is intelligence that comes from a human made source i.e. a computer. Computers come in all sizes: room size, desktop, laptop, tablet, or cellphone. They can even be chips imbedded into your auto or household appliances. Simple things like basic email is artificial intelligence because you did not have to go to the post office to send it. #first The next level is email that can be partially written by the user and partially by the computer, such as Chat GPT. #second Another level is someone notes you bought tickets to a play. The system sends you a receipt by email and if you press a button, so the event is added to the calendar on your computer. #third The next level is you ask your phone to call to purchase the tickets, the receipt is sent & your calendar is automatically updated and you are notified by message. #fourth Many of these capabilities can be turned off if you feel frightened by them. The AI will then not do as much for you. Many of these features are mostly for very busy people who are juggling several meetings, emails, phone calls & contacts in multiple places as well as a private life. What scares so many people is putting this capability into autonomous robots and asking them to make decisions for humans. It is also the competitive race to be the first against your competitors. what if you could not turn it off. I once had a toy robot. I wondered if I could use it as self defense. I put it into attack mode. The good part was I learned it would attack a would be intruder. However, it did not want to stop attacking me. I had to knock the robot face down so I could turn it off. I finally was able to reset the mode. Obviously the technology was not mature enough yet. Even the professionals worry that some corners might be cut to rush to market and similar problems might happen.
