I didn’t found a a comprehensive enough document, so I started one. blog.arkey.fr/2026/02/08/ten… #OpenJDK #OkHttp #HttpClient
10 or more reasons to not use JDK’s HttpClient

Java mostly, and general tech

From blog.arkey.fr
Is there comprehensive study of #okhttp, vs #JDK’s #httpclient, in particular. I’m interested in subtitle capability differences, robustness and performance.

#java http mock tools have gotten better in the last 15 years, but the reigning, possibly forever, king is still #okhttp's MockWebServer. Zero fuss, multiple un-conflicting servers, tls, failures, whatever. Logging is done right, at the right level. Basically this is free of the complexity battle of a lot of alternatives. Only thing you worry about conflicts with is okhttp itself, and that's rarely an issue, except possibly when using it as an intermediate library github.com/square/okhttp/…
