A huge 'Cheers!' to everyone who came and supported our Beer Festival on Saturday by buying a pint (or two!) These events raise money to help care for our collection, open up the museum to the community, and protect and promote Hertford's heritage #microfest

Yes we have lots of beer, but we also have ice pops and a kids activity up in our gallery, appropriately next to our pubs display. Come join us, we’ll be celebrating until 6pm! #microfest

Come along to our beer festival and please your palate - we have 13 real ales for you to try, complete with tasting notes! (our experts advise us that all beers are best enjoyed with a hot sausage bun, sat in our garden listening to live music 😉) #microfestu

Brewing in Hertford is certainly not a modern phenomenon. This Roman corn dryer, excavated from Foxholes Farm and now in our collection stores, was used to dry barley for beer making. Some of the original barley even survives today, carbonised in the heat. #microfest (1/2)
