I genuinely think about this sometimes…
What if you’re short… like PROPER short… 500 lots type confidence…and market just casually opens +800 points on expiry?
There’s no SL. No adjustment. No time.
Just you… watching your P&L bleed in real time.
Do you even react at thatere and accept fate?
Curious… what would you actually do?
I’ve come to realise something about how I operate in the markets…
I’m not driven by returns. I’m driven by the fear of losing control. Every position I take is built around one principle: anticipate the worst before it happens. That’s why I hedge. Not as a strategy, but as a necessity.
Because the truth is returns are never in your control. Risk is.
If risk is defined and respected, returns become a byproduct. But the moment you start chasing returns, you start compromising on protection.
And that’s where it gets dangerous.
You end up oversized, unhedged…convinced you’re right. Until one open wipes out weeks, months, sometimes years of discipline.
Markets don’t destroy people slowly.
They do it in one move… when you’re most exposed and tomorrow most of the people I know are going to get destroyed.
