How do you help 4th graders understand measurement conversions of mixed numbers? Meet the “broken yardstick”. They’d convert the whole # and add the fraction. This represented the “yard” they didn’t change to feet 😁 All of a sudden, they got it! #MagicMath@CDLocps@K5MathOCPSe

Measurement unit: I “stacked up” my students and used the tiles as a benchmark for feet. We then converted the feet to inches and yards. Together, my students are taller than Cinderella’s castle! 🏰@K5MathOCPS@CDLocps #MagicMath #MakeItMagicF
