What was previously a conceptual dilemma—segregate or share street space?—here, we bring it closer to reality through #scenario #planning in the city center of Athens, Greece. We conduct #MATSim experiments and examine outcomes through the lens of #accessibility.

Using #MATSim and an open experimental scenario, we simulated drastic changes - imagine most #urban_roads in your city with speed limits slashed to 30 km/h or even 15 km/h! The results were fascinating:

We use an extended microsimulation #MATSim model (maintained by @AITtomorrow2day), mobility diaries, locations (home, school, work, leisure), road networks, public transport (PT) data, & a representative set of agents, to generate agent multi-modal trips for a representative day.
