@SecScottBessent@FT@SecScottBessent insults the Financial Times, an Ad Hominem #LogicalFallacy--rather than address the facts with proof and evidence. You don't resort to name calling when you have the facts on your side.
This is the Burden of Proof #LogicalFallacy.
You are making a claim--that there is widespread election fraud--so it is YOUR responsibility to PROVE it.
How do you react when a Senate Democrat says that noncitizen voting in the U.S. is “very, very, very, very, very, very, very rare”?
My reaction in a nutshell:
They have NO IDEA how common or rare it is because the status quo makes knowing that impossible
@mattvanswol Undocumented people grow our food.
Undocumented people clean our homes.
Undocumented people care for our elders and sick.
Undocumented people cook our food.
Undocumented pay into Social Security and get no benefits.
Your post is a Hasty Generalization #LogicalFallacy
@JamieMetzl This is a False Choice and Straw Man #LogicalFallacy.
You make it sound like critics support terrorism, and as if our only choice is support America and Israel right or wrong despite acting like Imperial, Military colonists, or supporting our enemies.
This is a Straw Man Fallacy #LogicalFallacy@McFaul characterizes opposition to the war as not caring about democracy; yet, Trump has stated regime change is not the purpose of the war.
Characterizing opponents as not wanting Iranians to be free is a Straw Man.
It is the most American act of all to criticize our government. It’s a cherished freedom of our democracy. It’s what distinguishes us from dictatorships. And it usually makes our policy outcomes better.
If you support Trumps war in Iran, make a compelling argument; bring some data to support your hypothesis. But do not slander those who disagree with you as being unpatriotic or un-American. That’s how it works in Iran, Russia, North Korea, and China. We are not like them.
Ah, the false choice gambit! Insurance losses decline for many reasons - better building codes, improved forecasting, flood defenses. A knight knows that correlation proves not causation, and two options rarely capture reality's full complexity. #LogicalFallacy
@PterSoltsz1838@PeterDClack Ok, that's tricky. Is Clack using the #LogicalFallacy of Incredulity that it's not what he believes or "Ex Silentio" (Latin for 'he missed it personally'). Your sarcasm seems apt. Peter actually seems pretty decent. I'm not even sure he spins it for profit. We should stay civil.
