THE government must account for the missing M3.5 billion illustrated in the Auditor-General’s Report on the Consolidated Financial Statements of the Government of #Lesotho for the year ended 31 March 2023. The issue is too serious to be met with silence or vague responses. To date, there have been no clear explanations, no visible accountability, and no sense of urgency. For a matter of this scale, such inaction is entirely unacceptable. lestimes.com/?p=90094

A Moment of Leadership, Legacy, and Friendship in the Kingdom of Lesotho It was both a profound honour and a deeply personal privilege to be in the beautiful Kingdom of #Lesotho to celebrate the birthday of a dear friend and an extraordinary #Africanleader, The Rt. Hon. #PrimeMinisterMatekane. I was especially grateful to have spent the 3 days in Lesotho with the PM at his personal residence, and for the thoughtful traditional gift he so kindly presented to me. It is a gesture I deeply value, not only for its cultural significance but for what it represents - the enduring bond and goodwill between us. This visit went beyond a birthday celebration-it stood as a powerful expression of leadership rooted in service, enduring legacy, and meaningful community impact. I began my journey with a scenic helicopter journey over Lesotho's breathtaking landscapes-from Maseru to the Prime Minister's hometown of Matsonyane- and witnessing the official handover of a #church he personally built and donated to his community of birth, one could not help but reflect on the true essence of leadership: #givingback, building #institutions, and leaving enduring footprints where it matters most. I was equally honoured to be invited among a select few to deliver remarks in celebration of the PM-alongside His Majesty King Letsie III of Lesotho, former First Lady of #Namibia HE Monica Geingos, another dear friend I was delighted to reconnect with after some time. These are the moments that remind us of the strength of African leadership networks and the bonds that transcend borders. It was also a privilege to propose the toast at the Grand Reception in honour of the Prime Minister-a moment filled with dignity, joy, and deep appreciation for a life of purpose-driven leadership. Lesotho, with its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, is a reminder that Africa's true wealth lies not only in its landscapes, but in its people-leaders who build, communities that sustain, and stories that inspire. My warmest wishes once again to HE Sam Matekane-may your leadership continue to inspire, and your legacy continue to uplift generations. And to the world: Discover Lesotho. Engage Lesotho. Partner with Lesotho. There is so much more to see, to learn, and to build together. #AfricanLeadership #Lesotho #Leadership #Legacy #AfricaRising #GlobalAfrica #ImpactLeadership

#Lesotho’s education policy adopts a behaviourist stance, focusing on tasks and outputs while ignoring identity, what it means to be a Mosotho shaped by education. MoET envisions a skilled, selfreliant Mosotho for national development, but confines identity to cultural terms. lestimes.com/?p=90076
