#KENYA: FAITH ODHIAMBO HANDS OVER LSK PRESIDENCY TO CHARLES KANJAMA
Faith Odhiambo has officially handed over the presidency of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) to Senior Counsel Charles Kanjama after completing her two-year term from 2024 to 2026.
Odhiambo, the 51st president an to lead the Society, described her tenure as a period of resilience and reform, marked by advocacy for dignity and the rule of law.
Kanjama, a seasoned constitutional lawyer and former chairman of the LSK Nairobi Branch, was elected the 52nd president in the February 19 elections. He secured 3,728 votes, defeating lawyer Peter Wanyama who garnered 2,616 votes, and outgoing Vice President Mwaura Kabata who received 2,086 votes.
Speaking after his swearing-in, Kanjama pledged to build on Odhiambo’s legacy by fostering unity among members and strengthening professional integrity. He emphasized the Society’s role in championing legal reforms and vowed to steer LSK toward greater visibility in national discourse.
The handover ceremony, held during the Annual General Meeting in Machakos, also marked the swearing-in of the new Council for the 2026–2028 term, signaling a fresh chapter in the Society’s leadership.
