#Lehecka is not the person who you would expect to win 56/56 service games to reach a Masters 1000 final unbroken in whole tournament. Wonder what is the overall record across events and in a slam for both ATP & WTA? I think we may see some big servers like #Isner, #Karlovic, #Bublik too apart from all time greats like #Sampras and #Big3 of #Federer, #Nadal, #Djokovic in men's and #Venus, #Serena, #Martina in women's.

🇨🇿 Jiri Lehecka is the player who has held serve the most times (𝟓𝟔) among all players who reached a Masters 1000 final without ever being broken #MiamiOnzwb

@mattracquet Hi Matt, do you have the data for the previous 20 yrs from 1985 to 2004. My guess is that there would be a noticeable difference. One reason they slowed it a little more could also have been #Karlovic beating defending champ #Hewitt in 1R in 2003.

@As a tennis fan and analyst, I would actually prefer slower conditions to lightning fast especially on grass (think back to #Sampras, #Ivanisevic, #Karlovic bombing aces). While they showed good net play too, a large portion of points ended in one shot. Many matches were monotonous & boring! I am not sure #AusOpen conditions is that slow-#Bublik said the court speeds varied & that RLA was slower than MCA but we need confirmation with Court speed Index since weather impacts the speed too. If racquet tech continues to improve pace of server, the perhaps 7 foot tall servebots will take over in future & tennis would lose it's charm. The long rallies and difference in playing styles like #Fedal is what made that era so special! #Sincaraz is another great rivalry to look forward to.. If Carlos can win at net in these slow conditions, there is nothing stopping the others from doing so. History says #Noah won #RolandGarros on slow clay playing S & V. Players need better skills & coaching!

stat of the day-1 73.7% Saving a break point is an Italian speciality, with #Sinner N1 in 2024 (73.7%), just ahead of #Berrettini (73.4%) If you look at BPs saved % since 1990, Berrettini is actually N4! (#Karlovic leads) Special mention to #Shelton, 72.5% BPs saved in 2024

He might have lost in the SF, but #Sinner continued to be impressive when facing Break Points: He saved 80.6% of them in 2024! #Karlovic has the record (since 1991) for a full year: 79.7% in 2015. If you look at career stats, the best on tour are #Raonic & #Berrettini with ~69%
