The reality is that this extension merely prolongs the shutdowns compounding the impact of higher commodity prices. That is good news for the likes of #AET, #KIST and #HEX. But it’s not news for the world economy.

#KIST now back to its start of Feb valuation. Oil price has dropped on hope more than concrete progress towards opening the Strait. But a safer Middle East means a more secure Oman deal. So either KIST bakes in a higher medium term oil price affect or it bakes in the Oman deal and 20,000 bopd. Win/win.

I've been long European natural gas via Kistos $KIST, thanks to the excellent writeups by @IggyOnInvesting. Great owner-operator, accretive acquisitions, pursuing niche (and smart!) strategy on the liabilities side. Still massively misunderstood IMHO.

From the #KIST 9th Jan RNS. "Completion is expected in the first quarter of 2026, and we are well advanced in preparation for the integration of these world-class assets into our portfolio." There may need to be an extension, but I would expect an update by the end of the quarter. Deal on track means 20,000 bopd backdated to 1st January 2025 in a significantly elevated oil price market. A risk premium likely applies due to the close nature of the Oman fields to the Iran conflict, but so long as the deal closes, then every day oil gets shipped, KIST is benefiting.

#KIST is too low here. Pulled back on a 5-day pause that's not essentially happening, and nothing on the water has changed.
