Afghan Migrant Jailed For Sexually Assaulting Child.

An Afghan migrant who required an interpreter in court has been jailed for a year after he admitted sexually assaulting a 13 year old child in Hasib, 30, of no fixed address, pounced on the schoolgirl at around 6pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026 on South Pier Road, inappropriately touching her.
The child was left deeply traumatised.
Hasib appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault.
He was sentenced the same day to 12 months in custody and will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
In March 2025, Hasib, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court accompanied by an interpreter.
He was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in the town.
The victim told the court she now lives in constant fear that the incident will happen again.
Despite this conviction, he was handed a soft 18 month community order with just 35 days of rehabilitation activity, a £100 fine and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five years.
A restraining order was also imposed banning him from contacting the victim or visiting Grange Road in Ellesmere Port for 18 months.
Hasib has recently been awarded leave to remain in the UK.
Yet within a year he has re-offended, this time targeting a child, while still on the register.

- The deportation rate for failed Afghan asylum seekers is just 1.8%.
Cheshire Police confirmed the details but declined to comment on Hasib's immigration status, previous monitoring, or why deportation proceedings have not been mentioned.
A force spokesperson said: "We take all reports of sexual assault extremely seriously and work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice."
Hasib will serve half his sentence before automatic release on licence, meaning he could be back on the streets in as little as six months.
