Eskom's Hex BESS has a storage capacity of 100 MWh, which can power a town the size of Mossel Bay or Howick for approximately five hours. 💡
This initiative is part of Eskom’s broader BESS program, which includes the installation of approximately 833 MWh of additional storage capacity across eight Eskom Distribution substation sites in KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and Northern Cape, complemented by about 2 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity.
