The #DigitalDivide is evolving, not narrowing. See the scatter plots below with the share of households with no internet (left) and the share of households with cellular data only (right) for all 92 counties in #Indiana. The y-axis shows the 2017 percent while the x-axis shows the 2024 percent. Dots (counties) to the left of the orange line indicate their share decreased while the share in those to the right increased. The share of households without internet access decreased across *all* #Indiana counties between 2017 and 2024 while the share in the majority of those with only cellular data internet access increased. Home #broadband subscriptions are the gold standard because they are faster, more reliable, provide connectivity to devices with larger screens, and have higher data limits. #DataInsights
