Bringing a young child into a boardroom of mostly men? Unthinkable in that era. Traditional gender roles meant spouses stayed home. Thankfully, the adjustment required a great partner, with responsibilities shared. #WorkLifeBalance #ChangingTimes

BRITISH POLLING & PUBLIC OPINION The ideal age for marriage in Britain in 1948 was 25 for men and 23 for women. Pretty close to the reality at the time of 25 and 24. Now it's all the way up to 33 and 31, and of course far fewer get married at all. #MarriageTrends #ChangingTimes

#reels #culturalshifts #changingtimes #heroes Recently came across a picture of these two gentlemen posing together. Interestingly, among the several effusive comments below, there was one (from a person probably in their teens) which read… “Who is the guy with Anatoly?” Perhaps it was most likely made in jest-else the originator of that sentence would have got ‘terminated’; but I thought it also threw light on how heroes of one generation, don’t mean as much to a newer one. Arnold Schwarzenneger and Anatoly the Janitor (real name-Volodymyr Shmondenko) are two gym icons from two very different eras. Arnold perhaps was the first person who made an impact on young minds about fitness and body sculpture, beyond those already obsessed with bodybuilding. Many would remember his ‘Pumping Iron’ film, which was a big hit in India when video cassettes were a thing. More importantly, it got many people into the gym. Perhaps kindling an early and mainstream start to fitness consciousness across the world. He then went on to be a major movie star, with a very ‘muscle ke rakh doonga’ vibe to all his films that nonetheless resonated enough to punch box office collections into submission. By contrast, Anatoly, after previously being a power lifter, really and truly found fame online. While technically, he used the same gym space to gain popularity, his approach was a lot different, probably emblematic of the ‘reel times’ we are living in. He makes entertaining content, where, posing as a janitor, he makes several bulked up ‘gym bros’ eat humble pie. Typically masquerading as someone who they initially dismiss, even mock, until he lifts massive weights and their egos, clear over their heads. Very entertaining stuff, do take a look if you haven’t already. And he gets some amazing traction on his posts. His content strikes a chord with young people, because they (and the rest too) absolutely love seeing somebody’s pompous bubble being terminated. That satisfies people not just at a cerebral, but at a deeply visceral level. “I’ll be back” with more on this :).

Looks like, apart from Gold, Defence can become a secular global trend for some time now! Just a thought. #changingtimes
