During the second week of
#CSW, the Bahá’í International Community hosted a screening of Mercy’s Blessings, followed by a youth-facilitated conversation on education, gender equality, and justice. The film sparked reflection on the cultural norms and structural barriers that ’ access to quality education worldwide.
We were honored to be joined by Ambassador Agnes Chimbiri-Molande of Malawi @ChimbiriAgnes, and the film’s writer and director, May Taherzadeh, in a rich discussion that reinforced a foundational conviction: justice requires not only equal treatment, but the creation of equal conditions.
As May noted, “Education is not about ‘deserving’ it—it is about being human.” Quality schooling is a human right, and is inseparable from the well-being of society. As the Ambassador emphasized, “Girls’ education is key to any kind of social transformation.”
