⚠️Oman/Dubai crude oil prices are CRASHING at a historic pace: Oman/Dubai crude plunged over -$45 in a single day, to ~$110 per barrel, one of the largest single-day drops for any oil benchmark in history. Murban crude, the UAE's flagship oil grade used to price physical also sharply lower. Both benchmarks had surged above $140 per barrel earlier this month, far outpacing Brent and WTI. Unlike Brent and WTI, which are heavily influenced by financial markets that often smooth out sharp moves, Oman and Murban crude reflect real-time physical trading and react instantly to cargo demand and supply changes in the region. The sudden reversal is being driven by shifting geopolitical expectations, including Donald Trump announcing that military action on Iranian energy infrastructure is postponed, rapidly deflating the war premium that had been built into prices. The expectation had been that Brent and WTI would eventually catch up to where Oman/Dubai crude was trading above $140. Instead, it is Oman/Dubai that is collapsing back toward Brent and WTI levels, a sign that the market is starting to price in de-escalation. Will this continue?
