#Otd #On March 27, 1914, Belgian physician Dr #Albert Hustin performed the first successful non-direct (indirect) blood transfusion in Brussels, marking a pivotal shift in medical history. By adding sodium citrate as an anticoagulant to the blood, Hustin prevented clotting, ored and transported, thus eliminating the need for direct artery-to-vein transfer.
