MONDAY 2:30 PM 8/25/25 TROPICAL UPDATE
Let's keep this short & simple!
Tropical Storm
#Fernand is located around 425 miles east, northeast of Bermuda with 60 MPH winds. It will become a post-tropical storm by Wednesday morning, never posing a threat to the Carolinas or the U.S.
Oveal wave was showing some signs of potential development as it approached the eastern Caribbean islands. This tropical wave has had a very difficult time trying to get better organized, and because of poor atmospheric conditions, chances of development have dropped to zero.
Elsewhere, the tropics remain inactive due to lots of ongoing sinking air across the tropical Atlantic. In meteorology, this is due to a global air circulation pattern called the Madden-Julian Oscillation. Looking down the road, there are some signs that things could ramp up come the middle of September, but for now, let's enjoy this period of inactivity!
