@You can't read?
@And you don't know Covenant language.
Say it loud. Your condemning yourself with your ignorance.
Joshua tells the people, covenantually, that they are each other's witnesses to testify before God.
What does he say: "that you have chosen [for] you[rself] the Lord."
You chose.
You chose.
You chose.
You chose.
You chose.
You chose.
Where does Joshua call this pride? Nowhere.
You added to scripture.
Joshua said you are witnesses for one another that you chose the Lord.
They reply: yes, we are witnesses.
This is not a condemnation. It's a confirmation.
AND WHY DO YOU CHERRY PICK VERSES??
What is good to us:
Joshua 24:16 - the people say they don't worship other gods
24:17 - they confirm that God took them out of slavery, precooked miracles and protected them.
24:18 - they confirm the Lord removed nations away. So we will worship the Lord. (That's a choice, btw)
24:19 - 20 (they go together; can't separate them)
you can't return to worshipping foreign gods and abandon God, or God will turn against you. He is a jealous God. (Your choice: be faithful or return to other gods. Always your choice.)
24:21 We choose to sorrel the Lord!!
24:22 - you will be a witness against yourself (meaning we don't need outside witnesses; you'll testify for one another. This is COVENANT LANGUAGE. But what would you know about Covenant, right Many?). We are our own witnesses.
24:23 - now you out aside your foreign gods.
24:24 - We CHOOSE to worship the Lord or God
24:25 - Joshua draws up an agreement for the people. Legal Covenant.
24:26 - Josiah wrote in the Law Scroll of God. (Not the other way around. God didn't choose. The period did.) Joshua out a stone under the oak tree.
24:27 - he says: the stone is a Covenant witness. It will witness if you are faithful; it will witness if you turn back to false gods. COVENANT LANGUAGE.
Manny, why do you dement Covenant Language in scripture? It's all over and nowhere does it take on the meaning you Artemis to give it.
Do yourself a favor.
Joshua 24:22 Joshua said to the people, “Do you agree to be witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to worship the LORD?” They replied, “We are witnesses!”
Against. This seems to be your word. Look it up in an interlinear.
It isn't there. It was added.
Go to verse 27. It's shown twice:
Joshua 24:27 Joshua said to all the people, “Look, this stone will be a witness against us, for it has heard everything the LORD said to us. It will be a witness against you if you deny your God.”
Interlinear.
The first....isn't there.
The second....it's just: you.
Nothing in the Hebrew about "against."
Your entire argument just...vaporized.🤣😆
