Fintiri Witnesses Sallah Durbar in Madagali, Monarch Commends Governance Efforts
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Friday attended the Sallah Durbar at the palace of the Ptil Madagali, Ali Danburam, in Gulak Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The event, held as part of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, drew community members, district heads, and traditional title holders, who paid homage to the governor and the monarch in a colourful display of culture and unity.
Speaking at the occasion, the Ptil Madagali commended Governor Fintiri for what he described as impactful governance, noting that the administration has positively touched the lives of the people. He particularly praised the governor’s support for security agencies in their efforts to combat insurgency in the area.
Dr. Danburam also congratulated Christians ahead of the Easter celebration and applauded the existing harmony between different religious groups within the chiefdom.
However, he expressed concern over lingering security challenges in parts of Madagali, urging residents, especially youths, to remain vigilant and united in addressing the situation.
Earlier, the Chairman of Madagali Local Government Council, Mr. Musa Shashi, appreciated the governor for celebrating the Sallah festival with the people of the area and assured him of continued support in tackling security challenges. He also commended the efforts of security operatives in maintaining peace across the local government.
The durbar featured traditional dances by various cultural groups and concluded with prayers for peace, unity, and sustained coexistence in the state.
