@AesirMalos Buddy there’s already 90 million PS5s out already. The price hike does nothing for porting the game to switch 2. The Switch 2 is just too underpowered to play GTA 6.

"minimal effort", porting PS2 and PS3 games is actually quite the effort, and getting it right can be really difficult.

Videogame companies have no idea how insanely rich they could get by simply porting their old games to PC and putting a 20$ price tag on them with minimal effort

@beeeemooooo They’re right. Emulating the PS3’s hardware is difficult, but porting them to modern hardware should be much more doable.

@beeeemooooo The bigger issue is how many of those games still have their final dev build somewhere. If they at least had the last version the devs had their hands on before it went public would be step one to porting.

@beeeemooooo @Gaming4all98 They even had it working on the Xbox but didn't go through with it. Developing on the PS3 is hard, emulation was the challenge. But porting games when you have source access is a diff story, that just comes down to whether a publisher wants to or not

@beeeemooooo Maybe porting is the wrong word but the original developers wouldn't have the trouble of having to reverse engineer the entire hardware architecture so it's really much simpler than what the emulator devs are doing already

And another "The Mission" porting to @godotengine weekend :) Started porting "visual" stuff like the ground, grass, etc. Haven't done much actually, just some very basic stuff using godot's stock Polygon2D and Line2D #gamedev #indiedev
