The Court of Appeal in Brussels issued a ruling condemning the Belgian government for failing to take the necessary measures to prevent complicity in the risk of genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The court confirmed that the government committed a serious error by delaying the res, including the royal decree that prohibited aircraft carrying military equipment from crossing Belgian airspace to Israel, which was issued about two years after international warnings.
The court required the government to take measures to control the transit of sensitive equipment to Israel and to review the procedures for handling dual-use goods, which could be exploited for military purposes.
