Last offseason, when I spoke with Terry Coner Jr, he had a plethora of options following two big seasons at Oklahoma Baptist, and he instead opted to stay in Shawnee for a 3rd season. No journey has been more impactful than Coner’s: Started off leading a sub-.500 Bison squad as .1ppg Still stayed. 2nd season: 16.1ppg for 4th team in GAC Still stayed. This year: 20.0ppg for a DII Final Four team. Loyalty doesn’t just look good, it also pays dividends. What a ride for Coner, and no matter where he goes next year, he will surely go down as the greatest Bison in their DII era.
