Last night a member of the sports media asked Kim Mulkey a question if she was planning on retiring based on Twitter/X reports. I don't have the exact quote but the question was asked on a massive platform covered by ESPN and others. Even the LSU fans I follow and trust for were posting about the retirement rumors. Below are the accounts where the retirement fake news originated.
Misinformation/disinformation has become a nuisance in our society. These are examples of disinformation. In Sports, where more money than ever is being injected, disinformation can sway recruits or even promote toxic cultures. We, as the LSU sports Twitter community, have to do a better job of policing our own. This is the new town square for society. I challenge myself to question the info especially if it doesn't past the smell test. Also, stick to known reliable sources for info like from Doucet, Cauble, the Advocate, Moscona, Preston Guy, and Mike over at
Tigerbait.com, etc.
I have community noted each of these disinformation tweets and I have reported both these accounts and their BS website account. Also in case you guessed, there is no podcast. It’s a fake account.. Their photos are AI. I encourage people in the LSU Sports Twitter community to do the same
