@Following the law is not "obe@dience". Obedience would be following somebody else's interpretation of the law. Law is a society contract, a code that society must follow.
Every successful group has some "code". Bitcoin and XMR blockchains - both successful groups - have code (= law).
You don't call complying with blockchain code "obedience" - it's just a shared code that everybody uses and that allows the system to function.
In the same way the law in society is the "code" that allows society to function, if everybody follows that. The problem is not the law, but abuses of the law, and not following it.
