@AaronGleeman We are now batting a guy who has never had an OBP over 290 leadoff WTH amazing how fast and far the franchise has fallen can’t wait to see how small the home opener crowd will be 🤦 has to get better at some point

@notgaetti I’ve never liked WAR. The more derivative the stat the harder it is to see where a players strengths and weaknesses are. Ex- SLG and OBP > OPS.

@B33feSupreme Last year (which is also his career) the 29 year old Mangum had a .650 OPS which included just a .309 OBP vs lefties Triolo hits lefties better.

@GoldyHappens Don’t know who that is. But how about the hot start from Pavin last night. Might be the league leader right now in OBP.

Some interesting team stats from @scottwatkinsTU CCU really needs to improve on their K rate to go to the next level, especially for an offense whose philosophy is get ‘em on, get ‘em over, get ‘em in. You’re not doing any of those 3 K’ing. Walk Rate and OBP stand out.

@Career, yes, but@Trioloh@as been all ov@er the map. He had a .798 OPS against lefties last year with a .339 OBP in 122 PA, but just a .567 OPS with a .303 OBP in roughly the same number of PA the previous year. Rather inconsistent. Mangum only has one season under his belt and is a switch hitter. I know he had more favorable splits against righties last year, but coming up through the minors, he had negligible difference with some seasons much favoring lefties: .350+ OBP. I don’t think looking at limited MLB stats justifies it. Not to mention Mangum’s speed on the bases…

@While @I love Happers De@fense, I wasa@bout to complain about his place in the lineup, but before I did, I took a closer look at his stats. #3 in OBP last season at .342, barely behind our leader Nico at .345. This lineup is sick and is going to produce a LOT of runs! Maybe not every day, but most days. Coupled with our rotation and bullpen, should result in a win 90% of the time 3 out of every 5 games. Win half of the rest and we're at 119 wins. Easy peasy. This unscientific analysis brought to you by me.
