@I lived in Yokosuka for a year when I was a U.S. Naval Aviator (helicopter pilot). I was fortunate to have been able to travel a bit around Japan and found the people friendly and welcoming. I also made two very close friends who were Japanese Navy helicopter pilots. I spent many a night with them drinking more Sakai than perhaps we should have. About a year after I left Japan my two friends pulled into Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on their ship. I was honored to have had the opportunity to welcome them and a couple of other pilots into my home. We had a great time, but they were not good surfers! :) I have very fond memories of Japan and the Japanese.
