The battle of fast charging vs. battery swapping
Here is a very sanguine reasonable response questioning the use of the Nio battery swap infrastructure and one of the reasons why Nio has been shorted these past 5 years.
"Having watched a Nio battery swap a few years ago in the Netherlands, and having used about a billion Tesla Superchargers all over the US and Europe, I couldn’t for the life of me understand why anyone would want to sit it their car for a battery swap as opposed to taking a 15 minute break every 2-3 hours where they can get out of their car, get a snack, stretch and use the toilet."
We all know many reasons why the Nio battery swap network is beneficial to it's subscribers. However, let's skip all those and just deal with what the above post is trying to reason.
If you were alive in the 1970's, particularly in the United States, you may have heard these words spoken over and over again:
"Why would anyone in their right mind pay good money to buy bottled water? The world has gone crazy."
In 1970 The United States market cap for bottled water was an estimated $100 Million.
In 2025 The United States market cap for bottled water was an estimated $60 Billion.
Despite the above manifest utter disdain for the purchase of bottled water with "good money", despite readily available and affordable household personal water treatment equipment, you still have this MASSIVE increase in bottled water market cap.
WHAT HAPPENED?
A need that never existed somehow got filled.
i.e. create a need and then fill it.
A convenience that was never imagined was filled. i.e. create a convenience and then fill it.
My friends, we are sitting on golden eggs. The reason nobody is paying $100 for each and every one of these eggs is only because they have not fully hatched.
All you need to do is buy and HOLD Nio.
