#Pune: A serious food safety concern has emerged in Pune after a customer claimed that a vegetarian pizza ordered from Domino's Pizza allegedly contained a piece of chicken.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on March 25, 2026, when the customer discovered the the pizza shortly after receiving the order. The individual, who follows a strict vegetarian diet, described the experience as highly distressing.
The customer immediately approached the restaurant staff to report the issue. However, it is alleged that the matter was not handled with due seriousness, with staff reportedly offering only a refund instead of addressing the concern more comprehensively.
The incident has raised questions about possible cross-contamination in food preparation and adherence to hygiene standards. The customer has also lodged a formal complaint with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), seeking action in the matter.
Calling for accountability, the customer has demanded a public apology, stating that the issue goes beyond an individual grievance and impacts the trust of vegetarian consumers at large.
