🇮🇷🇴🇲🇺🇸 These scenes are reportedly from the Omani port of Salalah. It bears emphasis that with a de facto Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz underway, the Gulf Arab states are now wholly reliant on a series of Omani ports (Salalah, Duqm, Sohar), Emirati ports (FujaSaudi Red Sea ports (Jeddah, Rabigh/King Abdullah, Yanbu), all of which are outside of the Persian Gulf/are not subject to Iran's de facto blockade. There are very major capacity and throughput constraints at these ports and elsewhere in regional logistics, especially for ships that are presently being rerouted. There is also the issue of bunkering. The most important bunkering in the region port is Fujairah, just outside the Strait of Hormuz and within the reach of Iran's strike capabilities. By targeting fuel tanks at ports as distant as Salalah, Iran is exhibiting not only its reach but also its ability to affect shipping outside of the Persian Gulf. Once again, I stress that everything we have seen to date has transpired *without* the involvement of Ansarallah in Yemen.
