The other sacrifices his people’s dignity, sovereignty, and future just to hold on to power.

The trajectory of a believer in God & a believer in 'mortals' (puppet rulers), holds no similarity. Where the one might face 'consequences' willingly for the sake of greater good,other ones often sacrifice dignity,sovereignty,and well being of their own people to remain in place.
